halyard swing

In the summer of 2024 we headed out to Brownsea Island using assistance from Savvy Navvy to help us follow the channels and not run aground and traverse safely to the island to meet up with our friend Chris Somner at C Serve Ltd and rafted with him and his daughter we had a brilliant time and stayed up late jumping in the warm sea and slept at anchor. Once the night turned to day we headed for home but we were going to take a slight detour into a deeper spot to do the Halyard swing! To do the halyard swing you lower the halyard to your desired height, attach a fender. Now start your engines because you need to go pretty fast for this to work [roughly 5-6kn] the person swinging then goes to the outer side of the guard rail at the back then the helm steers sharply in the opposite direction to which the participant is on whilst the person jumps out and swings higher and higher until they let go then the helm switches off the engine and the smiling swimmer comes back eager to do it again!

We do not condone dangerous activities and do not take any liability for injuries incurred whilst doing a halyard swing.
